The Christchurch Gondola whisks you to the top of the hills where stunning views await.
To the west, the Southern Alps seem close in the clear pure air and to the East, the ocean and the sky stretch as far as the eye can see. Experience the Time Tunnel, a dramatic reconstruction of the history of Banks Peninsula and Christchurch. See lifesize dioramas of the early voyagers, both Polynesian and European.
Revive your spirits with a snack at the new Red Rock Cafe, browse what is on offer in the shop or just relax and take in the magnificent 360° views.

Gondola surprise
Having hosted international students for the last 6 years this a great place to take them the two girls loved it taking lots of photos.

“It was so fun that I almost cried. I liked the cafe because they have ice creams and I had the bubblegum one (but I didn’t eat the bubblegum part) I liked the Discovery ride. I like that I could ride for free but when I turn five then we’ll have to buy a ticket for me.”

Such an amazing experience!
We really enjoyed our time at The Gondola. Such amazing views and the 'experience ride' was much cooler than expected! Great gift shop and cafe as well. All around an awesome experience. A must do if you are in Christchurch!

Fantastic Experience
Even though the weather wasn’t fantastic we got to the top and it cleared up and we had beautiful views overlooking the city and also Lyttelton harbour. Highly recommend.
